Dave Fleming

Principal Ecologist (Brisbane)

Dave is a terrestrial ecologist with over 10 years experience in the environmental consulting industry and the coal seam gas industry.

His experience and skills are wide ranging and include:

  • Ecology, zoology and botany
  • Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) systems and processes
  • Safety leadership
  • Ecological training
  • Systems development and implementation

He is fully cognisant with Queensland environmental protection, planning and nature conservation legislation and policies, including the Queensland Environmental Protection Act 1994, Nature Conservation Act 1992, Environmental Offsets Act 2014 and the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (applying it to a range of development projects across various industries, and conservation and management planning, including vegetation and fauna management (particularly threatened species).

His has varied expertise with projects ranging from:

  • Major and minor urban development (residential, commercial and industrial projects)
  • Linear infrastructure constraints and impact assessment (e.g. powerline easements, pipelines and roads) and
  • Management of biodiversity systems and processes, and land use planning, and
  • Preparation of environmental offsets strategy (Arrow Energy)


Dave is a Certified Environmental Practitioner (Ecology Specialist) with the Environmental Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ) and Chair of Ecology Special Interest Section (SIS) of EIANZ.
