Ecology and Heritage Partners' subpanel planning specialist Spiire conducted a property rationalisation project, which involved the completion of the following ecological tasks to inform the project undertaken for Barwon Water.
- Desktop Environmental Constraints Assessment
- Development of a preferred ‘Highest and Best Use’ Options
- A program for disposal
- Risk Allocation Assessments
Spiire’s approach was mindful of the State Government and Valuer General’s requirements for land disposal.
Outcomes and benefits
The report completed by Spiire was tabled to the Board of Barwon Water in 2011. It included:
- Redevelopment options and associated indicative gross values
for each of the subject sites, in addition to a ‘Schedule of
Rationalisation’ for site disposal; and
- Informed the initial disposal of a number of Barwon Water sites and the
development opportunities of key sites within the municipalities of
Greater Geelong and Surf Coast, Golden Plains and Colac-Otway Shires
