Bushfire Protection Assessments

Bushfire planning affects many development projects and public land managers, and an understanding of bushfire risk and mitigation is becoming increasing important.  We have extensive experience in bushfire behaviour and risk management, together with intimate knowledge of the ongoing protection and management of ecological values important for stakeholders.

  • Complete site assessments and reports, including Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) Assessments, Bushfire Management Statements and Bushfire Management Plans (in the relevant jurisdictions).

Amendments to Victorian Planning Provisions

As a result of the Black Saturday Bushfires and the 2009 Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission, the Victorian Planning Provisions were amended (Nov 2011). New bushfire planning provisions to the Victorian planning system were introduced via
Amendment VC83. The changes included:

  • Assistance to comply with relevant State and local government statutory requirements
  • The associated provision Clause 52.47 – Bushfire Protection: Planning Requirements
