Melton Recycled Water Pipeline - Preliminary Documentation

Notification for Publication of Final Preliminary Documentation under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act)

The following notice is published pursuant to Section 95B (4) of the Commonwealth EPBC Act, and follows the recent public comment period during which no comments were received.

The proposed action is identified as the Parwan to Melton Recycled Water Pipeline, for a proposed pipeline located between Parwan and Melton, Victoria (EPBC 2018/8260). The proposed action is to be undertaken by Western Region Water Corporation.

The proposed action is a controlled action under the EPBC Act. The controlling provisions are listed threatened species and communities (Sections 18 and 18A). The relevant matters of National Environmental Significance are one fauna species, Golden Sun Moth Synemon plana and one ecological community, Natural Temperate Grassland of the Victorian Volcanic Plain. The proposed action involves the removal of Golden Sun Moth habitat and Natural Temperate Grassland of the Victorian Volcanic Plain to facilitate the pipeline project.

Final preliminary documentation will be open on display online, for free of change between 25 September 2020 and 23 October 2020 at the following locations:

If requested, hard copies can be posted to individuals.  Due to the current closures of local council (Melton City Council) and State Government offices (Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning), hard copies will not be available at these locations.
