Woodlea Masterplanned Community

Woodlea is a large, masterplanned community near Rockbank in Victoria. Ecology and Heritage Partners worked with Mirvac and Victoria Investments and Properties (VIP) over five years providing specialist ecological services during the precinct structure planning and approval process.

A comprehensive Conservation Management Plan for the nationally threatened Growling Grass Frog Litoria raniformis formed part of this advice. The Plan detailed a commitment to protect existing habitat, and to a significant increase in breeding habitat through the creation of dedicated (off-stream) breeding wetlands located adjacent to Kororoit Creek and Deans Marsh wetlands.

EnviroDevelopment Certification

Woodlea attained all six elements of EnviroDevelopment accreditation. These are Ecosystems, Materials, Waste, Energy, Water, and Community. The community will enjoy reductions in both energy and water consumption for private dwellings and across the whole community. Approximately 30 per cent of the site has been earmarked for public open space featuring conservation areas and an extensive network of walking and cycling paths.

Many of our staff are certified EnviroDevelopment professionals are available to answer questions and assist with EnviroDevelopment certification.
